Date Calculator

Counting days on a calendar is fine for a week and unreliable for a quarter. Month lengths vary, February changes length every four years, and the answer to "what date is 90 days from today" is almost never the one people guess. The Date Calculator does the arithmetic exactly, either finding the interval between two dates or adding and subtracting a number of days, weeks, months or years from a starting point.

Legal and administrative deadlines are the classic use. Notice periods, warranty windows, statutory response times and payment terms are all expressed as a count of days from an event, and getting the end date wrong has consequences. Project managers work the same arithmetic in reverse, counting back from a launch date to find when each dependency must be finished.

Everyday questions matter too: how many days until a wedding, how old someone is in days, how long a subscription has been running. Because the calculation is instant, you can try several scenarios and compare them rather than committing to the first estimate you made in your head.

How to use the Date Calculator

  1. Decide whether you are measuring between two dates or adding time to one date.
  2. Enter the start date, using the calendar picker to avoid format confusion.
  3. Enter the end date, or the number of days, weeks, months or years to apply.
  4. Read the result, noting whether the count includes the start day.
  5. Adjust the inputs to test alternative scenarios before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result include the start date?

Interval results count the number of days between the two dates. If your deadline rule counts the first day as day one, add one to the figure.

Are leap years handled?

Yes. February 29 is included in every calculation that spans it, using the full Gregorian leap year rule.

What happens when adding a month to the 31st?

Adding one month to 31 January lands on the last day of February, because the target month has no 31st. This matches the convention used by most calendar software.

Can it count only working days?

The main calculation counts calendar days. For working day deadlines, subtract weekends and any public holidays that apply in your jurisdiction.
