Text Case Changer

Retyping a heading because someone left the caps lock on is a small waste of time that adds up across a working week. The Text Case Changer converts any block of text between upper case, lower case, sentence case, title case and other common conventions in a single click, preserving your punctuation and line breaks while changing only the letters.

The tool is useful well beyond fixing accidents. Editorial style guides differ: some publications set headlines in sentence case, others in title case, and product teams often need identifiers in camelCase or snake_case. Converting reliably by machine avoids the inconsistency that creeps in when a human capitalises "and" in one heading and not the next.

Content migrations are another common trigger. Legacy databases love ALL CAPS for names and addresses, which looks aggressive on a modern website and is measurably harder to read. Pasting an exported column into this tool and converting to sentence or title case cleans up thousands of rows in seconds, without opening a spreadsheet formula editor.

How to use the Text Case Changer

  1. Paste the text you want to reformat into the input area.
  2. Pick the target case: upper, lower, sentence, title or another supported style.
  3. Review the converted output, checking any proper nouns or acronyms.
  4. Adjust anything the automatic rules could not know about, such as brand names.
  5. Copy the result and paste it back into your document or CMS.

Frequently asked questions

How does title case decide which words to capitalise?

It capitalises the first and last words plus all significant words, leaving short articles, conjunctions and prepositions in lower case. Style guides disagree on the details, so check the output against your own guide.

Will acronyms survive the conversion?

Not automatically. Converting to sentence or lower case will change NASA to Nasa or nasa, because the tool cannot tell an acronym from an accidental caps lock. Fix those manually afterwards.

Are line breaks preserved?

Yes. Paragraph structure, spacing and punctuation are left exactly as they were; only letter casing changes.

Is there a size limit?

There is no hard limit. Long documents of many thousands of words convert in well under a second.
